Kitchener gets much needed gravel parking lot to replace historic Lang Tannery buildings
I was wrong about the demolition of the historic Lang Tannery buildings. It wasn’t by wrecking ball or dynamite as I earlier postulated. It was by heavy equipment.
The demolition began on Monday and will certainly be complete within two weeks. The second building came down on yesterday.
The Toronto developer, Cadan Inc was given permission to demolish the four buildings without public debate, and that’s a shame. It’s also too bad that we only have the vaguest idea of what the developer will eventually build here, if anything.
