What the home inspector told me – about your furnace

my waterloo home furnaceHow can I tell if my furnace is high-efficiency or mid-efficiency? How long will they last? What does a new furnace cost?

New furnaces cost between $3000-$5000.

The lifespan of a mid-efficiency furnace is 18-25 years. Mid-efficiency furnaces usually vent up through a brick or metal chimney.

The lifespan of a High-efficiency furnace is 15-25 years. They normally vent out through the side of the house through a plastic pipe. High-efficiency furnaces usually have a water drain.
